Next mineral discovery is still going to come most likely from South America. Most Asian jurisdictions are still far away from being able to attract exploration capital. This is despite an excellent geological potential. Large land tracts of Iran, Afghanistan, India, SE Asia, Phillippines, Indonesia, Mongolia etc are large under-explored terranes with huge geological potential. The government policies, rules and convoluted decision making processes, however, make most of these places unattractive for investment of risk capital.

Answer: Right now, save for Kovid Pandemic, S.America is attractive from all angles of doing the business of mineral exploration for non-bulk metalliferous mineral deposits. It would be certainly a rewarding exercise in S.America. Among the Asian Countries, leave out India for reasons cited by Amit Tripathi and in my reply to an another question. India is not attractive to investments to carry out mineral exploration as a business, even though there exist geological potential to find world class deposits of gold, basementals (Pb,Zn, Cu and associated metals) and RM & REE-bearing minerals and also molybdenum and tungsten deposits. Africa is right now HOT for large scale investments into mineral exploration and mining.
